Lost in time
Basilio lives with his wife Rosina and their cats in a very old house in Sicily. They have decided to live in a simple and traditional way, far from the comfort and frenetic pace of modern life. Basilio is also a very devoted religious man. Every year, during Christmas time, he builds a large “presepe”, i.e. the nativity scene, an Italian traditional representation of the birth of Jesus. He has a room dedicated to it with statues in motion, rivers with flowing water, a sophisticated system of lights representing the change from the day to the night with music and sounds that reproduce reality, such as the animals calls or the crying of the baby Jesus. The preparation of the “presepe” for Basilio is a spiritual act that drives him every year to do more. During Christmas time, Basilio and Rosina open the doors of their home to the people who wants to visit this tiny and timeless devout place, where the most fervent and true senses of Christianity seem to come together.
